There's a great article over at dev.opera.com by Björn Lindberg about creating Loco Roco in JavaScript on canvas. Thanks to the explanation, I finally understand vector math! Only 15 or so years too late for my high school exams, but there you go. And, despite my long standing belief, it actually has a practical application: creating this lil' blobby demo thing. Sorry I ignored you through all those classes Mr McAllister.

Sorry Sheena – only works in good browsers ;)
It’s using Canvas which is supported in Firefox 3.5, Safari, Chrome – but no IE. I think there is a hacky type thing to get it to work, but you know… I’m lazy.
