Mr Speaker Loves Safari

Oh if HTML could talk, the stories it would tell. Probably not all nice stories mind you. Through no fault of its own, poor old HTML has been the victim of many a harsh word from developers over the years.

But slowly people are learning who the real culprits are, and are using HTML to vent such frustrations.

It does feel good to vent-via-code I must say, and it certainly made me chuckle to notice a particularly nasty ID-based outburst from the coders at

<div id="widget" style="display: none;">
  <input id="safariIsWank" type="hidden" value="" />

Maybe a bit harsh on ol' Safari - but it would have been satisfying to type.

  1. That’s brilliant. Up there with ‘cellpEditing’. At one of my previous places of employment, our sole graphic designer, fed up with endles revisions to the company Valentines day promotion, ended up making the main splash page out of ‘fuck_it.gif’. Mr. Creighton, if you are out there, one of your finest moments.

  2. What a fantastic thing. I just noticed the tag myself and blogged it, then figured I should google around for other posts. You were #1 on Google, so grats!
